ANALIZZAZIONE SULL'ARTE di Harold K.Schneider La natura può produrre delle cose di valore e anche esteticamente piacevoli, ma queste, quando sono prodotte dall'uomo, sono qualcosa di speciale "nsaasia". "Nsaasia" è un atto di "majighana" o altruismo... L'arte è una forma piacevole dal punto di vista estetico che viene prodotta dall'uomo. Un artista è una persona che è in grado di compiere atti di "majighana" esercitando il proprio "nsaasia" per procurare piacere agli altri. Gli artisti appartengono alla classe delle persone magnanime, che comprende chiunque altro riesca con le sue azioni a dar gioia alla gente. NSAASIA: qualità delle azioni o qualità delle cose atte a produrre un effetto piacevole. MAJIGHANA: azione volontaria che rende felice qualcuno. esercitare la propria libertà di scelta per fare cose che rendono altri felici. (Dai concetti estetici fondamentali dei Turu, un popolo di lingua bantu della Tanzania Centrale) "L'arte è conoscenza intellettuale delle idee sovrastanti alla realtà". Platone "L'arte è imitazione non dei corpi in quanto tali, ma dell'anima che è in essi sede sello spirito e si manifesta come bellezza; e, allo stesso modo, la musica è imitazione dell'armonia spirituale del mondo, sicchè l'arte viene concepita come imitazione dell'idea..." Plotino "L'arte è espressione. La concezione idealistica dell'arte come espressione presuppone un primato, anzi un'esclusività, dal momento conoscitivo rispetto a quello del fare: arte come modo di conoscere e non come produttività febbrile". Benedetto Croce "Il fatto che un uomo formi nella propria testa rappresentazioni degne di essere comunicate agli altri, è effetto della natura o del genio; il fatto però che egli, per mezzo di parole e di altri segni, metta in luce queste rappresentazioni, così come deve essere, affinchè gli altri ne siano vigorosamente commossi, questo è un effetto dell'arte".
